Power Supply Application:

This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply devices used in medical environments. The application is typified by high demands on safety performance. The PSU complies with EN 60601-1 / UL 2601-1, type B (patient care) medical safety standards.

Model description:

The power supply is based on a cost effective flyback converter topology. This provides a wide input voltage range, a high efficiency and a compact size. The output is fully protected against overload and short circuit conditions, with an automatic recovery after removal of the concerning fault condition.

A green LED, located at the secondary side of the unit, illuminates when the power supply is functioning properly.

Despite a bad thermal condition, caused by the completely closed plastic housing, the intelligent design and high efficiency of the PSU guaranties a low thermal stress level. This is even the case at continuous high load and elevated ambient temperature.

Mechanical construction:

The power supply is mounted in a special made plastic housing with an AC mains inlet in accordance with IEC 320. The two 9 pins panel mount sub-D connectors provide an easy connection with the to be powered electronic medical devices. Mechanical protection is in accordance with IP 32.
