Power Supply Application:

This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply a family of computers used in medical environments. The application is characterised by high demands on safety performance. This PSU complies with IEC 601-1 / UL 2601-1, type B (patient care) medical safety standards.

Besides this, the application demands a superior protection against loss of functionality and data during AC mains power interrupts. This requires extended hold-up time and power fail detection and indication with an enlarged warning time.

Model description:

The power supply circuitry is based on the single-ended feed-forward principle. This cost effective topology provides a high level of reliability, a good efficiency and a compact size.

The PSU has a stand-by and a remote on/off functionality. Due to this, a separate auxiliary supply is built in. This auxiliary supply uses a switching transistor based self oscillating flyback circuitry, which non-complexity results in excellent reliability and a long operating life time.

Furthermore, the unit is provided with TTL compatible remote on/off and power fail warning signals.

Mechanical construction:

The power supply has a high quality ATX compatible metal housing and is provided with an output cable loom and flying lead output connectors. The unit is equipped with a low noise ball bearing fan, which generates the internal required forced air convection.
