Power Supply Application:

This custom made power supply is designed to supply the 37Vdc BUS voltage within a professional storage server system. The application operates 24/7 and needs a high reliability. The system is built up with three parallel running power supplies. It is possible to plug in/out one PSU at a time, without affecting the performance of the 37Vdc distribution bus.

Another specific requirement for this application is the capability of delivering high peak power to the different DC-DC modules and motors, which are connected to the 37Vdc distribution bus.

Model description:

The power supply converter principle is based on the single-ended feed-forward principle. This cost effective topology provides a high level of reliability, a good efficiency and a compact size. The unit is power factor corrected resulting in a sine wave input current with minimal distortion and an universal wide input range.

System power management and thermal performance is controlled by means of four different status lines and an open collector output, which sets the speed level of the integrated system fan.

Mechanical construction:

The rackmount PSU is built in a closed metal housing and mounted on a tray with an integrated radial fan, which provides cooling for the power supply and the system.
