Power Supply Application:
This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply traffic information displays at motorways. The system consists of up to 20 charger and battery combinations, which are parallelly connected to a single power bus. This connection provides active current sharing and an uninterrupted supply of power when AC input power is lost.
Model description:
The power supply circuitry is based on the double-ended feed-forward principle. This cost effective topology provides a high level of reliability, a good efficiency and a compact size.
The temperature compensated output voltage of the unit matches with the charge characteristics of the lead acid batteries, which guaranties an optimal lifetime of the connected battery.
Furthermore, the power supply is provided with a two wire active current share control bus, which provides an accurate current sharing between the parallel connected units. A remote sense input compensates the voltage drop on the output wiring and ensures an accurate voltage at the location of the load and battery.
