Power Supply Application:

This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply an ATX motherboard, the electronics and electromechanical parts of a gambling machine. The machine is characterized by short periods of high output power, which is caused by the switching behaviour of DC motors and light bulb matrices.

Model Description:

The power supply is power factor corrected resulting in a sine wave input current with minimal distortion and a universal wide input voltage range.

The unit has a built in 5V / 3A flyback auxiliary supply and two separate feed-forward main converters to ensure a continuous high output power on all 7 outputs. These outputs are fully overload, undervoltage, overvoltage and short circuit protected.

Furthermore, this PSU has all I/O interface signals required for ATX compatibility such as power OK, power fail and a remote on/off.

Microcontroller:
All protection levels are controlled by a microcontroller, which is specially programmed for this design.

Mechanical construction:

The power supply is built in a special designed black anodized aluminium bracket and a galvanized metal cover. A popular choice of connectors has been made for easy and reliable connections. Cooling is accomplished by means
of a built-in DC fan.
