Application:

This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply the electronics of a coffee vending machine for the professional market. The application is characterized by 24/7 operation with high power demands for a short period of time. Furthermore, the application demands a remote on/off functionality of the main converter and a 5V auxiliary converter.

Model Description:

The power supply main converter provides a 24V and 30V DC output voltage and an auxiliary converter provides a 5V output voltage. The main converter is capable of delivering a peak output power of more than 5 times the nominal value. Besides this, the output power of the main converter is protected and has the ability to fold-back at very high load conditions without affecting the performance of the 5V auxiliary output.

I/O Interfaces:
The PSU is equipped with the following I/O interfaces; a main converter logic OK signal, a remote on/off function, a power fail signal and an output current sense signal, which is used to check the current drain from the customer’s electronics.

Protection Circuitry:
The unit is provided with a double protection circuitry to comply with LPS safety regulations.
