Power Supply Application:

This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply the electronics of a professional security surveillance system (CCTV). In order to perform to the highest possible level of reliability and to resist external overload or immunity, all the connected outputs are protected to a maximum degree.

Model Description:

Due to the special nature of the application operation, the regulated power supply generates very low ripple and noise. The PSU has 7 outputs:

• Three low loss short circuit protected main outputs (output 1,2 and 3). These outputs are used to supply the motherboard of the system.
• Output 4, 5 and 6 are used to feed the electronics of several different sensors and actuators at distances up to 100 meters.
• Output 7 is used as a separate output to supply the customer’s system fan.

For immunity reasons, galvanic isolation exists between outputs 1, 2, 3 and outputs 4, 5, 6 and 7. A special circuitry is added to shut down outputs 4, 5 or 6 in case of an overload. After removal of the overload, these outputs will re-appear automatically. Any individual short circuited output does not affect the performance of the other outputs.

Mechanical construction:

The Power Supply has an open frame construction. Cooling of the PSU is accomplished by forced air convection, which is provided by the system fan.
During a breakdown of the fan, the power supply can still provide a 100% load situation. Two flying lead connectors provide an easy connection to the main board of the surveillance system.
