This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply a professional coffee dispenser. The application is characterised by operating 24/7, with very high power demands for only a short period of time.

Model description:

The power supply circuitry is based on the single-ended feed-forward principle. This cost effective topology provides a high level of reliability, a good efficiency and a compact size.

The power supply unit is equipped with a robust passive power factor corrected (PFC) circuitry. The 30V output is provided with an accurate low loss magnetic post regulation.

This features a constant voltage and constant current, which results in the capability of handling the large start-up currents caused by the connected DC-motors. An overload condition on the output, which is used to connect the DC-motors, does not affect the performance of the other outputs.

Mechanical construction:

The power supply has an open frame construction and is provided with two L-shaped heatsinks, which are screwed upon the metal mounting console of the machine. This construction increases the cooling capacity of the heatsink and it contributes to a lower weight and smaller size of the power supply.
