Power Supply Application:

This custom made switched mode power supply is designed to supply the electronics of a gambling machine. The application is characterised by high power demands for only a short period of time, which are caused by motors and lamps.

The existing peak load current demands have a significant impact on the design of the PSU. In order to ensure a high reliability, the PSU has to be able to cope with these currents.

Model description:

The power supply is power factor corrected, which results in a sine wave input current with minimal distortion and a universal wide input voltage range.

The unit has a built in 12V / 1A auxiliary supply and a carrier detect input for remote on/off control by using a modem. The 12V output and the 26V output are provided with a low loss magnetic post regulation. This features a constant voltage – current control. Due to this, the large peak currents are adequately handled.

When the +12V and +26V are operating in constant current mode, they will not affect the performance of the other voltage source outputs.

Mechanical construction:

The power supply is mounted in a special designed housing existing of a black anodised aluminium bracket and metal cover. Cooling is accomplished by means of a built in low voltage fan.
